Biography I am dedicated to transforming radiography education by integrating innovation, enterprise, and research with clinical practice. Recognised with awards, such as the Alumni Award for Extraordinary Achievements in Radiography, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Outstanding Contribution to Research, I am committed to advancing the profession through mentorship, enterprise initiatives, and the sharing of best practices and research.

Since joining the University of Salford in 2015, my role as Head of Radiography in the School of Health and Society involves leading curriculum development and accreditation to enhance education and employability. I manage, lead and mentor staff ensuring they are equipped to meet the evolving demands of healthcare. With a background in breast imaging, I bring 10 years of National Health Service (NHS) management experience and hold a PhD by published works. My key interests include workforce development, enterprise, mentorship, and employability readiness.

A passionate leader, I champion student-centred and experiential learning to develop competent and reflective professionals. I led a transformative £2.87 million project to create a state-of-the-art medical imaging facility within the University of Salford, providing an inclusive simulated learning space that bridges theory with practice. To enhance support for this facility I additionally secured £850,000 in workforce grants and played a key role in obtaining £180,000 in philanthropic funding.

As a former manager of breast services within the NHS, patient-centred care remains at the core of my professional ethos. I am dedicated to fostering excellence and supporting professional growth to enhance employability, empowering others to develop and share best practices. As a Trustee for Symposium Mammographicum and a mentor for the Society of Radiographers’ Leadership Mentoring Scheme and Aurora, I champion leadership development across the sector. My journey is defined by a pursuit of excellence and a passion for making a tangible difference.
