Research Interests | My main research interest is in creating Practice-as-Research projects in performance and film that focus on methodologies of co-creation and the intersection of history and the present day. I am particularly interested in the plays, performances and writing of the suffrage era, exploring how they can be utilised and adapted for contemporary performance. I am also interested in developing and documenting collaborative and inclusive methods of writing and production for film and performance. My practical research always incorporates interdisciplinarity through working with students on these projects, I can provide an opportunity to enhance their skills and experience professional working environments. I have contributed two recent entries in the Palgrave Encyclopaedia of Victorian Women Writers, focusing on suffrage journalists at the turn of the century and am currently developing a PaR project exploring a filmmaking methodology based around co-creation and democratic creative practice. |
