Mrs Rachel Pilkington
| Biography | I qualified as a registered adult nurse in 2004 from the University of Manchester. Once qualified my first role as a qualified nurse was in Stroke care. Caring for patient in both the acute and rehabilitation. In 2006, I moved to the Emergency Department (ED) where I worked in all areas, caring for adult and children and young people (CYP). Towards the end of my 12 years in ED, I became the Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF), supporting all healthcare professionals in their roles. At the beginning of 2019, I left ED to become a Clinical Skills teacher at the University of Salford (UoS) as part of the Future Nurse Curriculum. During this time, I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PG CAP) and commenced my masters qualification. Just over 12 months ago I became an adult lecturer and have since gained my masters in leading in education. I am married to Mike and we have 2 children together. My aim is to make a difference and give the highest standard of care to my patients and their family by directly giving the best education to our students. |
