Ms Debbie Milner
Biography | I am a dance artist and educator with over two decades of professional experience. I have collaborated with various dance artists and companies, community groups and arts organisations, and cultural industries across the UK and beyond. Some of the highlights of my career include working with , Ludus Dance, TC Howard, Company Chameleon, Gary Clarke, MDI, Axial Dance ,Lisi Perry and The Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) I am passionate about preparing and supporting dance students for their future careers. I have conducted research with colleagues in Sport Rehabilitation and Health to explore how to enhance the well-being, resilience and fitness of dance students. I also foster a creative and playful learning environment where students can be curious, intuitive and honest in their exploration of dance. I love dance and I share this love with my students without hesitation. In addition to my teaching and research, I have also been involved in leading and directing various dance projects and initiatives. I was the artistic lead and rehearsal director for EdgeFWD, an all-male dance theatre company based at Edge Hill University that aims to challenge stereotypes and celebrate diversity in dance. I was also the rehearsal director for 12 Degrees North, a post-graduate dance company supported by Arts Council England that provides opportunities for emerging dance artists to develop their skills and showcase their work. Through these roles, I have been able to mentor and inspire the next generation of dance makers and performers. |
