Biography Dr. Mohammed Albakri is a senior fellow of higher education and teaching and research leader in the information systems and digital transformation domain. Dr. Albakri is a distinguished academic and multiple award winner with more than a decade of experience. He is currently the Programme lead of BSc Business Management with Innovation and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Manchester, and his work and leadership on digital transformation has had a significant impact in academia.
Research Interests Dr. Albakri's research interests span the information systems and digital transformation including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and critical systems thinking, with an emphasis on innovation and strategy. He is active in the information systems research community, where he has developed a distinguished publishing portfolio of over 60 outputs. Recently, he has published a textbook on contemporary information systems research design.
Teaching and Learning As a Senior Fellow of Higher Education and inspired by the widely adopted UK teaching-intensive framework in academia, Dr. Albakri has honed a diverse set of strategies to keep students engaged in the classroom. Dr. Albakri teaches in the IS/IT field with particular emphasis on digital transformation. His teaching approach is rooted in the belief that learning should be an active and collaborative endeavour. He has taught modules such as innovative problem solving, information security management, operations information management, digital business and business live project with innovation and technology among other related modules.
