Second Salford FASD Conference: FASD in the UK Building on 20 years of progress

Description A one-day conference on the topic of Fetal Alcohol spectrum Disorder to highlight the research and impact of that research on policy and practice which has taken place in the Uk over the past 20 years. Taking place on campus with 213 attendees.
Including 45 tickets at a reduced rate for people with lived experience and 150 full paying delegates.
10 external speakers confirmed to present at the conference for a waived ticket fee.
The conference will provide an opportunity for networking and to disseminate research and current best practice to a wide range of important stakeholders including paediatricians, GPs, teachers, AHPs, people with FASD and their families.

First University of Salford conference on foetal alcohol spectrum disorders

Description A specialist FASD conference, approved by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, was held at the University of Salford Media City campus in Salford Quays on Thursday 12th December, 2019. Delegates heard from internationally renowned speakers on the history of FASD, diagnosis, issues around drinking in pregnancy, the presentation of FASD, the life experience of FASD, the experience of caring for a young person with FASD, prevalence, complexities with trauma and attachment issues, comorbidity with other disorders, issues around social care, national healthcare guidelines, and behaviour management of children with FASD.
