Claire Horder
| Biography | My professional background is in international development and global maternal health. Later in my career I trained as a midwife in the UK and since qualifying in 2015 I have worked between the UK, Uganda and Rwanda as a clinician and a programme manager for maternal and child health programmes. I have a Master’s degree in International Development with a particular focus on sexual violence and reproductive health in sub-Saharan Africa, and a Diploma in Tropical Nursing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I am on the Advisory Board of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health’s Global Links programme in Rwanda and provide programmatic, technical and clinical advice for their long-running perinatal improvement programme. My work in Uganda and Rwanda is the foundation of my ongoing PhD research, commissioned by NHS England, examining the mutual benefits of health partnerships for LMICs and the NHS with a focus on virtual engagement. |
