Biography I am a Professor of Rehabilitation at the University of Salford. My research mainly relates to developing and testing treatments for musculoskeletal pain conditions, including shoulder, elbow, and knee pain.

I have published over 125 peer-reviewed papers and have contributed over £8 million pounds of research grant capture, including almost £3 million as lead applicant. I was previously a member and then chair of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s Scientific panel (2017 to 2022). In 2022 I was awarded an honorary fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in recognition of my contribution to research and support for clinical-academic career development.

I am currently associate editor for the international, peer reviewed, journal Musculoskeletal Science & Practice. I am also a member of the NIHR Health Technology Assessment funding panel.
