From Manchester to the Mississippi - BBC Radio 4 script

Abstract

In 1964 the American Blues & Gospel Show came to tour the UK. Granada TV producer Johnny Hamp immortalised the occasion by presenting the performers in an hour long special filmed at a disused railway station in south Manchester.Using interviews and archive material this programme contextualises the concert and the period in which it took place.
