Abstract
As part of the Heritage Season to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Princes Road Synagogue (Liverpool), I will be speaking on the role of the Benas family in the Liverpool Jewry during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In particular, I will focus upon their contribution to communal life, their role in the study of Jewish History, and how they worked with the Jewish Historical Society of England from its inception.
