Abstract

The presentation slides outline the design and development of Industrial Re:evolution, an educational game simulating the Industrial Revolution in England and Wales (1600–1851). The slides begin by introducing the rational for building a game and the educational goals behind the project. They then illustrate the participatory workshop process that informed the game's design, highlighting how historical data and theoretical frameworks were translated into an interactive simulation model.

Key slides showcase the game’s mechanics, including region management, causal hypothesis building, and role-playing features. Visuals of the interface, narrative components (such as character-driven events), and in-game animated cutscenes demonstrate how gameplay was structured to foster engagement and learning.

The presentation also includes a final brief section on user testing, summarising activities conducted in classroom environments and feedback gathered from students and teachers.
