A report commissioned by the "Media Dialogue" project funded by the European Union taking stock of the state of journalism education in Kyrgyzstan with the view to the best ways of modernising the current teaching practices and the curriculum content. The report recommends introducing practical elements into the existing curricula in close cooperation with the country's mainstream and progressive media outlets and setting up a system of work placements for students based on genuine needs and industry driven criteria.
