Abstract
This is a presentation on the quality of information and future of journalism in the age of digital transformation, “fake news” and disinformation delivered at the opening session of the 20th Central Asia Media Conference in Astana, Kazakhstan, on the future of journalism on 7th November 2018 and aimed at triggering discussion around fake news and disinformation. It examines the mechanism of fake news and explores the cause behind its proliferation.
