Abstract
A set of training materials for a teaching module on the rights and duties of journalists for national trainers in Turkmenistan designed for journalists, lawyers, and public officials. The module covers the international agreements on the freedom of speech, access to information, professional standards in journalism, the legal status of the journalist, public interest, defamation and libel, hate speech, protection of sources, fake news, safety and cyber security of journalists, protection of private data, and privacy laws. the module takes up a number of illustrative case studies and examples and includes many additional materials and resources.
