A comprehensive report on the state of journalism teaching at the Sofia State University in Bulgaria with a detailed analysis of the journalism curriculum, teaching resources and infrastructure, as well as identification of deficits and main issues. The work sets out a recommended road map of reform in the spirit of European Union countries' experience in journalism education and effective teaching and learning solutions. The report includes a staged strategy plan for implementation to address most aspects of the curriculum and teaching employing a concept of constructive combining theory with practice to produce critical practitioners ready for the media industry in the context of a transition country with a communist past.
