Abstract

The Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC) at the University of Salford was formally launched January 2022. The Centre supports colleagues across academic schools and professional services to develop innovative learning and teaching (L&T) practices, through promoting inspiring and exceptional learning experiences which transform lives. The University of Salford (UoS) is committed to providing an enriched learning experience which is high quality, pedagogy driven and digitally enabled. We recognise that investing in a high-performing L&T environment to support excellence in academic practice underpins our core mission to “transform lives, stimulate discovery and realise potential.”

The session will take participants on a journey detailing how a previously dispersed team has come together under a single panacea to form a L&T centre of excellence.

The presentation explores the innovative approaches taken to:
• identify and build core strengths and development opportunities (enabling),
• form strategy, which aligns to core institutional priorities and the wider sector aims (enhancing),
• develop and prioritize short, medium and long term goals and enablers to improve and enhance academic practice (aligning);
• track, reflect and refine progress to inform and enhance evidence-based decision making, leading to sustained and measurable impact across LTEC’s 6 key strategic pillars and narrative to elements of the TEF.
