Abstract
The virus is very infectious. It hides in animals' hair, birds' plumage, on people's clothes, even on car tyres, contaminated food and airborne water droplets. Only speedy countermeasures can prevent the repeat of the 1967 scenario when 400,000 cattle had to be slaughtered in Britain.
