Williams, AE
Authors
Abstract
This paper explores some of the literature on aspects of therapeutic footwear and
draws from the author’s clinical experience of providing footwear and orthoses to
people with diabetes. The purpose is to highlight aspects of this intervention within
the whole management regimen for prevention of foot ulceration. The author
considers the aspects that need consideration by both clinicians and researchers —
from patient assessment through to the evaluation of outcomes.
